Ben Brookhouse, son of well-known jumps owner-breeder Roger Brookhouse, is the new kid on the block in Newmarket after taking over the lease at James Ferguson's former base at Saville House Stables on the Exeter Road.
At 30 Ben is currently the youngest trainer in Newmarket and hosts over 30 horses, his string is predominantly national hunt but is most certainly a dual purpose operation.
His attention to detail and level of professionalism stems from spending much of his life around or working alongside some of racing most influential characters, learning his trade from the likes of Ian Williams, Jim Bolger, Henry De Bromhead and Hugo Palmer.
Ben has a deep understanding of each horse's individual needs and personality, which enables him to tailor his training approach accordingly. He also has a keen eye for identifying potential in young horses and developing them into successful racehorses
Moreover, Ben's approach to training is highly methodical and he pays close attention to detail in every aspect of horse management, from nutrition and exercise to medical care and grooming. This ensures that his horses are always in peak physical condition and are able to perform to their best ability on race day.
